Abstract

CMIP5, as in earlier CMIP phases, calls for integrated sets of experiments that offer a multimodel perspective of simulated climate change and climate variability. Most modeling groups worldwide are participating in CMIP5, and their simulations are expected not only to be useful to research scientists in a variety of climate-related disciplines but also of relevance to national and international assessments of climate science (e.g., the IPCC AR5). © 2012 American Meteorological Society.
