Abstract

Specifications for commercially available solvents, the relevant physicochemical properties and key solvent properties are given for the three water-soluble 3- and 4- carbon alcohols. The procedures for their purification include the removal of water and of organic contaminants. Methods for the determination of these and of metal impurities in the alcohols are presented. © 1986 IUPAC
