Abstract

In summary, the number of patients needing dialysis therapy is continuously growing in Asian countries. However, reimbursement issues, cost of dialysis, knowledge of PD, and patient and technique survival with the use of PD will all continue to affect the use of PD in Asia. Industry, government, health care providers, nephrologists, and nurses should work together to improve the quality and to ensure the best use of PD. The PD community should play an important role in improving PD and in promoting its use in Asia.
