Abstract

This paper looks at integrated resource management as practised through plan preparation and implementation with reference to Tasman District. It is suggested that IRM is little more than a popular catch-phrase which generates the appearance of action without substance. Neverthless, local authorities are charged to establish, implement, and review objectives, policies and methods with a view to achieving IRM.
