Abstract

A concise description of and related activities of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation with a special focus on the book publishing and bookselling activities in Russia. The three major programs of the Foundation are described with an emphasis on book publishing and the related Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair. A critical analysis of the fiction and non-fiction trade book publishing industry is provided as a context for the activities of the Foundation. © 2009 The Author(s).
