This study aimed to unveil how Education for Sexuality can be approached and discussed based on the implementation of a didactic sequence for the 5th year of elementary school, in Science classes. This sequence was developed in seven meetings, lasting 100 minutes each, which took place over seven weeks. This investigation presented a qualitative nature, based on an interventional research. Data analysis occurred from the audio transcription of classes and activities carried out by students, based on Content Analysis, having as a posteriori categories the scientific aspects of Education for Sexuality and the socio-cultural aspects of Education for Sexuality, together with the subcategories Anatomy and Physiology; and respect for differences, beliefs and taboos, prevention and health and protection, respectively, allocated to the previously mentioned categories. During the application of the sequence, the importance of inserting Sexuality Education into the school space was discussed, articulating the categories of scientific and socio-cultural aspects, in order to avoid the fragmentation of knowledge about the body, contributing to the formation of sexually healthy children who will become aware and responsible adults about their bodies and their sexual rights.
