Abstract

A novel laser cladding method assisted by the coupled field of DC electric and alternating magnetic is proposed in this paper. The effects of the coupled field on the properties of the cladding coating and the flow of the molten pool are explored through experiments and finite element simulation. The experimental and simulation results show that the grain structure and the wear resistance of the cladding coating are improved under the effect of the electric and magnetic coupled field. The multiple stirring eddies appear inside the molten pool after adding the coupled field, and the fluidity of the molten pool is promoted.
