The demand for plastic has grown rapidly over the years as it finds application in various sectors. Intern caused the accumulation of waste plastic all over the world in landfills and water bodies. The generation of waste plastic harms the physical habitat; wildlife threatens aquatic life and humans. The economically efficient pollution-free electricity production is the need of the hour as the energy demand of India will be doubled in 2030, so it leads to the energy scarcity problem. As plastic is a petroleum-based product that has high calorific value like a normal petroleum fuel and non-renewable in nature which could be used in place of the already existing fuels. The utilization of plastic waste for energy generation has been addressed as the solution to the problem of enormous generation of plastic waste. Towards this solution, the novel idea of PYROCYCLING is proposed to generate plastic waste into electrical energy. The plastic waste burned in vacuum chamber in anaerobic condition to produce the steam which will help to generate the electrical energy in an effective way. The non-recyclable plastics precisely below 50 GSM are collected from Bhandewadi Dump yard, Nagpur, and waste is treated having successful generation of as much as 200-300 watts-hr energy. So by this technique, not only clean energy is generated but also some useful by-products such as pyrolysis oil and char are also generated. The overall novel process of Pyrocyling, methodology of implementation along with successful end results is discussed in this paper.
