Abstract

DIFFERENT nitrogen heterocyclic compounds were synthesized in one pot reaction from 2-cyano-3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)acryloyl isothiocyanate (2) as building block. The structures of thenewly synthesized compounds were confirmed on the basis of theirelemental and spectral analyses. The effect of the synthesizedcompounds on the growth of Hordeum coleoptile section usingstraight growth test for auxins and inhibitors has been studied. Moreover, some of the synthesized compounds were screened for theirin vitro antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus (Gram-positivebacteria), Salmonella (Gram negative bacteria) and antifungal activityagainst Aspergillus Niger.
