Abstract

A new species, is described and illustrated from a single male collected in the state of Pará Brazil (holotype ♂: Santo Antonio do Tauá, 8.I.1999) and deposited in the Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This species can be distinguished from others by the color pattern of the wings. In Chalcopteryx machadoi sp. n. the four wings are hyaline.
