Abstract

Moringa leaf is a plant that has a high iron content needed by pregnant women to increase hemoglobin. This study aims to determine the effect of Moringa Oleifera leaf meal in pregnant women on hemoglobin. This research is quantitative research with pure experimental research. Pregnant women aged ≥28 weeks and divided into two groups, namely the intervention group who were given Moringa leaf flour capsules and the control group, were given iron. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whiney test, the Chi-Square test, and the T-independent test. There was a difference in hemoglobin before and after the intervention, both in the group given iron. the group was given Moringa leaf flour capsules with a P-value = 0.001 (<0.05). The iron group had an average difference of 0.76, and the Moringa group had a mean difference of 1.46. Moringa leaf flour capsules are more effective in increasing hemoglobin than in the iron group.
