Abstract

This study encompasses the species of Menispermaceae registered for the canga of Serra of the Carajás, Pará State, bringing detailed descriptions, illustrations and morphological comments of the species. One Abuta: A. glandifolia, and two species of Cissampelos: C. andromorpha and C. laxiflora are registered for the study area. The genera are widely distributed in tropical forests in North America (South of Mexico), Central America and South America and the diversity center is in the Amazon (Brazil, Guyana, Suriname and Franch Guyana).
