Abstract

Fungal keratitis refers to direct fungal infections of the cornea and ranks as the leading cause of blindness in infectious corneal diseases. Agricultural trauma often encountered in developing countries is a major predisposing factor of the disease. The increasing use of antibiotics and steroids has also been implicated as an important factor for the rising incidence of corneal fungal infections during recent years [1].
