Academic Spin-off: Rio Norte Sementes Case Study

Abstract

This article aims to describe the creation and implementation of the academic spin-off Rio Norte Sementes in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes in order to encourage the creation of new spin-offs and indicate possible paths for their development and implementation. For this purpose, the case study was used as methodological scope, with data collection through semi-structured interviews. The results demonstrate the difficulties encountered in formalizing the spin-off in the institution in question, representing critical factors for the slowness of the innovation execution process, and show the creation of more efficient forms of commercial agreements and the application of new pedagogical practices for the development of students' entrepreneurial thinking.
