Abstract

This introductory article's point of departure is the transformation processes that have taken place in the Middle East since 2011. It presents perspectives in the academic discussions following the surprising events in a post-‘Arab Spring’ scenario. The Introduction emphasizes that it is the ambition of this collection of articles to discuss and make sense of the significant differences in the developments, where new geopolitical dynamics reshape the MENA-region's post-‘Arab Spring’ reality.
