Abstract

Freud's «Constructions in analysis» constitutes a new consideration of as yet undeveloped material in "Analysis terminable and interminable». It proposes an epistemological step forward, a number of aspects of which are developed by the author, for instance, a further development of the notion of regression (cf. Winnicott); the role of the fear of collapse at the heart of the human psyche; the effects of trauma; a new definition of the hallucinatory process. It finally examines the consequences of all these points on theoretical construction in the realm of psychosomatics, whilst distinguishing illnesses that are subject to fits, that is to say, contemporary psychotic enclaves from disorganised states, that is to say, fits that correspond to a manic behavioural escape from the risk of collapse. © Presses Universitaires de France.
