Abstract
Thin epitaxial La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO) films were deposited on single crystal MgO substrates. The electrical transport and magnetic properties of the films in the temperature range 4 - 350 K were investigated and strong correlation between them was registered. Magnetoresistance up to 52 % at temperature T = 256 K and magnetic field B = 5 T was achieved. The results obtained indicate that LSMO films with such properties are suitable for application as "barrier" layers in superconducting-ferromagnetic-superconducting heterostructures, but optimization of LSMO film thickness is needed. © 2010 IOP Publishing Ltd.
