Abstract

This analysis of the book Los crímenes de Bartow by Óscar Vela presented in this article is based on the Law and Literature Studies, the systemic theories of literature and the studies of the best seller. The book is based on well-known case turned into a novel, which explains the complexities lived by Nelson Serrano, an Ecuadorian prisoner sentenced to death in a prison in the United States. The study will focus on three points. First, the bases of the book and the complaints the author places. Second, the legal and literary strategies of the author to guarantee the sale of justice in the case in question. And third, heroism and patriarchal construction as a marketing strategy.
