Abstract
The difficult reality experienced by third world countries due to the insufficiency of their economies requires the development of new trends and paradigms of economic models that complement traditional economies. Creative Economies constitute a system of economic and social growth that groups new strategies for quality of life and development. The tangible and intangible heritage of Cuba has a high value, and the Historic Center of Old Havana is a recognized benchmark for the preservation of cultural identity, for its successful forms of heritage management and the enhancement of forgotten properties. Taking into account the Cuban socio-economic context and the objectives managed by the Office of the Historian of the city of Havana, this work constitutes an investigation of the possibilities and advantages of the application of Creative Economies in the contemporary national scene, starting from some experiences carried out in that territory.
