Adolescentes e jovens negros em situação de restrição e privação de liberdade: trajetórias de violação de direitos

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the social determinants that lead black adolescents and young people to constitute the majority in the social indicators of the socio-educational system, under conditions of restriction and deprivation of freedom. It is the result of bibliographic and documentary research, using the historical and dialectical materialist method as a reference for critical analysis of reality. It was observed that the Brazilian state is governed by a capitalist and racist system that privileges the class that owns the means of production - predominantly white individuals by race/color/ethnicity. Therefore, it neglects the other class - the working class - and, above all, black individuals, which is also the most impoverished group. This is expressed in mass incarceration, genocide, various types of state violence, and the violation/denial of rights to the poor and black population, which includes adolescents and young people in situations of restriction and deprivation of freedom. Thus, it is observed that such expressions are products, above all, of the intersectional oppression of race and class, with structural racism contributing to the reproduction of institutional racism, evident in penal selectivity, punitivism, and the criminalization of the "dangerous classes" present in the socio-educational system.
