JIMPITAN; TRADISI MASYARAKAT KOTA DI ERA MODERN

Abstract

This study aims to describe the collection of social funds through Jimpitan activities in the Griya Tanggung Asri Housing Blitar City. This study focuses on the history of the formation of Jimpitan activities, forms of management of jimpitan activities and the benefits derived from jimpitan activities. This research uses a qualitative method with the type of descriptive research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviewed, and documentation. Data obtained from primary and secondary sources. The informant selection technique uses a purposive technique. Purposive is a data source collection technique through consideration if the informant knows about the information sought, to facilitate researchers in collecting data. The interactive model of Miles and Huberman is used as a data analysis technique from this study. The results of the study found that: 1) the history of the formation of Jimpitan activities, due to public unrest of criminal acts in 2014 in housing in the form of theft of valuables. After that, all the community members, the head of the Neighborhood Association and Citizen Association, held a meeting to resolve the issues and the results of the deliberations formed a night watch patrol program to secure the environment. To encourage the night patrol officers, the community agreed to hold a Jimpitan activity, 2) the form of Jimpitan management was carried out by each Neighborhood Association. The form of management is divided into two, namely, management of night patrols as well as crush activities and reporting on the results of crushes which are divided into three stages, namely weekly, monthly and end of year, 3) the benefits obtained from the activities of crushes, namely as funding for community and environmental activities to be safe and comfortable so that harmonious life is created.
