Abstract

A detailed review is given of the properties, function, structural and chemical composition, variability and polymorphism of immunoglobulins. Special attention is given to the immunoglobulin classes and subclasses, the genetic system (V and C regions) and genetic markers (Inv, Gm), biosynthesis and secretion and genetic and non genetic influences on the immunoglobulin levels. A rather extensive bibliography is added. (Nijenhuis - Amsterdam)
