Abstract
This project report examines the effects of domestic violence on childhood, adolescent, and adult aggression. Drawing from an analysis of archival information of library-based documents, research-based articles, peer reviewed journals, books, Internet sources, as well as criminal justice abstracts drawn from the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS), and Psych INFO, the study reveals several significant findings. These findings include: witnesses to domestic violence show a cycle of violence from one generation to another; social learning theory was recognized as a powerful technique in children for observing, modeling, and imitating negative behavior; and the wraparound approach is a positive method in keeping the family together while rehabilitating the individuals involved in the abuse.
