Reviews the situation of elephant in Eritrea noting isolation of a presently small population, distribution, land use conflicts coupled with nocturnal activity habits of crop raiding animals, apparent habitat fragmentation, and management options. Measurements of 8 tusks, which were said to have come from animals killed in the Gash River area within the last few years, are noted in a table.
