Abstract
A detailed study of 32 algal cultures, tentatively identified as Chlorococcum at the time of initial isolation, resulted in the description of seven species of Chlorococcum new to science. Five of the new species are reported as edaphic and two as aquatic forms. Although previously described species were isolated from soil, aquatic isolates of Chlorococcum rugosum and Chlorococcum minutum were identified in this study. © 1979 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
