Abstract

Writing ability is a comprehensive reflection of cognitive ability, thinking ability and word usage ability. In addition, an important goal of writing teaching is to cultivate students' habit of thinking in English. Writing has always been the focus and difficulty in senior high school English teaching, which has attracted more and more attention. However, since students cannot master diversified writing skills and collect available materials, the actual results of writing can not reach the optimal points. There are many ways to achieve this goal and one of them is the application of process-genre approach. Based on the current writing teaching, this paper will introduce the process-genre approach in writing teaching and its types. In addition, this paper will analyze the design strategies of process-genre approach to discuss the application of it in senior high English writing teaching activities, so as to improve the effectiveness of senior high school English writing teaching and learning.
