Abstract

Three pteropod species are recorded from late Waitakian–Otaian (Aquitanian–early Burdigalian) rocks of the Taumarunui Formation (Mahoenui Group) outcropping southwest of Taumarunui, King Country, New Zealand. Two of these, Limacinidae sp. and Clio sp. have been recorded in open nomenclature due to poor preservation. The third, Clio triplicata Audenino, 1899, was previously known only from Miocene deposits in Europe and offers possibilities for long-distance correlation.
