Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the spatial equity of the educational service provided in the urban area of the municipalities of Manizales and Villamaría, having as hypothesis the existence of a strong inequity in the provision of the service at all levels (initial, basic, middle and higher), the methodology involves territorial accessibility analysis based on GIS, using travel times from a network of transport infrastructure, in public and private transport mode separately, the location of all formal education establishments whether public or private. This methodology is developed in such a way that it can be applied to different locations and populations throughout the world. The main results show sectors with disparate values with respect to the provision of educational services, showing how the lower strata havelower conditions thanthe higher socioeconomicstrata.
