Abstract

One effort to increase the absorption and added value of national natural rubber is to produce rubberized asphalt. For the activities of the preparation and processing of natural rubber raw materials as a road asphalt reinforcement, it is very necessary to conduct a technical feasibility study including preparing quality standards for the safety of the use of rubber as an asphalt mixture and also the asphalt product itself. In this research, parameter analysis of rubber raw material and rubber asphalt has been carried out in the developing standards. The results of discussions with several sources and some research traces, there are some rubber raw materials used as a mixture of asphalt: Technical Specifications Rubber (SIR 20 rubber and crumb rubber), Latex, Waste tire rubber used, Cyclic Natural Rubber (Cyclic Natural Rubber), Pre-vulcanized Latex, Masterbatch and Activated Natural Rubber Powder (SKAT). This research proposes that it is necessary to formulate the SNI of natural rubber quality which is used as raw material for rubber asphalt mixture by referring to the parameters in SNI 1903: 2017, ASTM D6114 and the Pre-vulcanized Latex Specifications of the research results of the Bogor Rubber Research Center. This study also proposes SNI to rubber asphalt quality by referring to the International standard ASTM D1194-97 about the Standard Specification for Asphalt-Rubber Binder and SNI 6749: 2008 concerning specifications for thin layer of asphalt sand (Latasir).
