Abstract
This research involved the design of a database of photographic documents dealing with historical monuments in Granada, with the purpose of analyzing and revealing the evolution of this heritage. This material is analyzed and interpreted in a document database that will enable any interested user to retrieve information. The methodology is based on methodological proposals for document analysis, which propose a new model for historical-artistic interpretation. The functional evaluation of the database is based on a number of queries made by users and the responses are evaluated by the metrics of recall and precision. The results are: the majority of retrieved documents satisfied the users' information needs and the recall ratio is high. The conclusions are: the effectiveness and functionality of the database design are demonstrated and specific areas for improvement are revealed.
