Abstract
The article discusses the establishment of digital repositories and archives and the challenges of acquisitions librarians and staff at the University of Maryland's Baltimore Health Sciences and Human Services Library and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County's (UMBC) Albin O. Kuhn Library. Topics discussed include the successful digitization of the University of Maryland, Baltimore's archive, called the UMB Digital Archive, the archiving of digital theses and dissertations (ETDs), and the procedure of using an Excel template for reformatting Proquest XML metadata for ingest into ContentDM, a digital collection management software.
