Abstract
Among the many connecting links between the urban development and local government finances, the relationship between urban development variables and operating costs of public services is one of the most decisive and less analyzed. In this study it is firstly proposes take a tour through historical processes of economic impact assessment of urban planning on Local Finances and secondly, analyze, through various existing studies, the role of each urban planning variable in the operating costs of urban public services. The analysis of these studies shows that the most determining variables are those linked to the quantity of existing infrastructure such as linear and superficial efficiency, which would add the service level as a defining element of the characteristics, intensity and quality of the services granted to the citizens.
