Abstract

In biomaterial ink development, achieving optimal performance is a complex process. A biomaterial ink that shows excellent printability may be inferior in terms of cell compatibility. Properties facilitating printability of biomaterial inks include, among others, viscosity and stiffness. Research shows that stiffness plays a pivotal role in dictating cell response. Neurons used in this study require an exceptionally low matrix stiffness, which may not show best printability results when realized in a biomaterial ink.
