The velocity of sound in electrolytic solutions

Abstract

A relationship between the velocity of sound in electrolytes and concentration has been derived for extremely dilute solutions from the Debye-Hückel limiting law. The equation fits the observed data at higher concentrations when the theoretical coefficients are replaced by empirical constants.
