Abstract

By observing the distribution of lichens and bryophytes in an area where levels of SO2 are well known it has been possible to produce a scale from which annual average levels of this pollutant can be estimated. Instructions on how to use the scale are given and its accuracy and possible usefulness are discussed. 1970 The New Phytologist
