Abstract
Land is a very important natural resource in agricultural activities. The need for agricultural land is increasing along with the increase in population. Plants should be planted in land that suits the plant's growing requirements so that they can grow optimally. The research objective was to determine the actual and potential land suitability as well as the limiting factors for actual and potential land suitability for maize (Zea mays L.) in Bulupoddo District, Sinjai Regency. The results of field observations and laboratory analysis and rainfall data show that the actual land suitability of corn plants in Bulupoddo District, Sinjai Regency is marginally compatible (S3) with the limiting factor of root media (soil texture) for all land units (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12). Nutrient retention (soil pH) of land units 4, 6, 7, 11 and 12. Erosion hazard level (slope) of land units 1, 2, 6 and 7.
