Abstract

The paper sets an ambitious task of contributing to the sorting out of the mul-ti-dimensional relations between the complex phenomenon of globalization and increasing projectification. Our particular aim is to understand how the impact of globalization is channeled to influence the organization of projects, criteria and factors of success, and challenges posed for project management. We find that a great part of this influence can be accounted for through in-crease in uncertainty and complexity (both of projects themselves and the en-vironment they are implemented in) caused by globalization. While technological advances are definitely part of the influence, it goes much deeper and broader than that.
