Abstract

The student centered learning approach has become a popular approach in the world of education as an effort to overcome the shortcomings of the teacher centered learning approach. But unfortunately in PAI learning this approach is still very minimally applied. This is due to the lack of the teacher's ability to understand and package their assignments. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to choose the appropriate learning method. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the talking stick learning method in applying the student centered learning approach based on the active learning of students at the junior high school level. To describe this problem, a quantitative approach research was carried out using the quasy experimental method of nonequivalent control group design in order to determine the effect of the talking stick learning method in applying the student centered learning approach. After the enactment of the talking stick learning method, there was a significant difference between classes that used the talking stick learning method and those that did not. It can be concluded that the talking sctik learning method can be an alternative in applying the student centered learning approach.
