Abstract
The rapid hydrolysis of 2-chloroprocaine by pseudocholinesterase usually limits its potential for toxicity in patients with normal enzyme. A case involving a postpartum patient with abnormal pseudocholinesterase activity who had a prolonged chloroprocaine epidural block is described.
