Abstract
Abstract The need for earthquake buildings is something that is needed, especially in our country, Indonesia, which often experiences very high levels of earthquake hazard. Not only fatalities but the earthquake also resulted in huge losses, especially in the infrastructure sector. Therefore we need a building that has a life safety performance where buildings are only damaged but not collapse. The main principles of earthquake resistant buildings are in symmetrical plans, lightweight material selection, and load- bearing construction systems. The research method in this study uses the literature study method by gathering literature related to this proposal. Cold rolled steel has the advantage that is, the speed of installation, tidiness, relatively light materials, efficient costs, resistance to environmental conditions, stable and safe construction, easy to obtain and has a strong structure because of corrosion and termite resistance so it is good to use for planning earthquake construction buildings. Besides the need for innovation to reduce carbon emissions, one of which is the use of environmentally friendly house. The most profitable are improved health quality, a calm and comfortable environment, savings in monthly expenses, increased productivity, and also have high selling points Keywords:
