Abstract

Functional feed additives are beneficial to improve the performance and egg quality of laying hens, and are increasingly used in intensive breeding processes, while long-term use of antibiotics as additives has led to problems such as drug residues in products and bacterial resistance. With the implementation of the anti-anti-biotic policy, the development of natural Chinese herbal medicines as feed additives for livestock and poultry has attracted widespread attention. The active ingredients in Cardamine hupingshanensis are selenoprotein, fla-vonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids, vitamins and other compounds, which have antioxidant, hypoglyce-mic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic, antibacterial, anticancer, improve immunity, improve intestinal flora and other functions. As a selenium-rich feed additive, Cardamine hupingshanensis can significantly improve the performance of laying hens. This paper summarized and analyzed the active ingredients and functions of Car-damine hupingshanensis, in aiming to provide a reference for the further research and large-scale application of Cardamine hupingshanensis as a feed additive for laying hens.
