Energy from the oceans.

Abstract

The possibility of using the sea as a source of energy is of particular interest to an island race and the 1973 oil crisis gave it a new inpetus. Various schemes have caught the public interest but there is confusion about their relative merits. Here the Chief Scientist of the Department of Energy puts two of them, tidal and wave power, in perspective, and his lucid assessment will do much to clear up current misunderstandings. (A)
