Abstract

Based on a recent empirical study, validated with other data sources, this paper shows that users’ experiences with the 9-Euro-Ticket were positive overall. The ticket has led to a significant shift in demand from cars to buses and trains and to an activation of non-customers. The effects of the successor ticket (2023) are expected to be lower.
