Abstract

Two new sesquiterpene lactones, named anislactone A and B, were isolated from the pericarps of Illicium anisatum. The structure of anislactone A was established by X-ray crystallographic analysis. Anislactone B was the isomer of anislactone A, and its structure was determined by spectral data compared with those of anislactone A. They were considered to be the biological derivatives from anisatin or its derivative. © 1990, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan. All rights reserved.
