Abstract

This paper proposes a routing algorithm based on the application energy prioritization in the Wireless Mobile Adhoc Networks. The proposed work accounts for energy expended due to applications running on the node as a significant contributing factor in the overall energy consumption of the network. A four node experimental test-bed is constructed for evaluating the performance of the proposed routing algorithm. The experimental results have shown that the overall network energy of the MANET is improved by 4.39% with the proposed priority-based routing approach.
