Abstract

The white flowered morph of Cirsium palustre (L.) Scop, is subject to preferential pollination. Since the polymorphism is localised in regions which are likely to possess a low pollinator activity it is suggested that the polymorphism may be an adaptive response to conditions of low pollination. © 1974 The Genetical Society of Great Britain.
