Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of a notary's authority to provide legal counseling in connection with the making of a deed in the city of Mataram. The problems formulated in this study are, firstly what is the urgency and relevance of providing legal counseling by Notaries to clients when making deeds, and secondly how to implement the authority to provide legal counseling by Notaries to clients in Mataram City. This research is juridical empirical with sociological juridical approach, statutory approach, and conceptual approach and analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of this study conclude that first, the urgency and relevance of providing legal counseling by a notary to clients is a moral obligation for a notary to provide legal knowledge to clients in order to create legal order in the community, legal counseling is very important to be given to clients to support the smooth process of making a deed and is a precautionary measures for a notary in order to prevent future disputes involving the parties as well as the notary himself. Second, the implementation of providing legal counseling by Notaries in Mataram City, that in its implementation notaries in Mataram City provide legal counseling in different ways according to the understanding and ability of each notary, legal counseling is given according to the client's needs for the deed making process, there are There are two ways of legal counseling carried out by Notaries in the City of Mataram, namely direct legal counseling by interacting directly with clients at the Notary's office and indirectly through electronic media.
