Abstract
A throttle control algorithm which compensates for the delay in manifold filling is proposed. This algorithm takes into account the control characteristics of an electronic-throttle-control actuator and improves the engine output response. The performance of the algorithm was evaluated in terms of rise time of the manifold pressure and duration of switching control. The results showed that the rise time and the duration of switching control was less than about 100ms.
