Abstract

Fig rust (Cerotelium fici (E. Butler) Arthur), previously unreported in New Zealand, was found in early February 1986 to be causing premature leaf fall of fig trees (Ficus carica L.) in Auckland. The disease and fungus are described, together with notes on distribution, infection and spread, and disease control. © 1986 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
