Abstract
Disaster mitigation efforts are measures to reduce disaster risk orsystematic risk prevention measures. Indonesia has the characteristics of a region that is vulnerable to disasters. Disasters that often occur in Indonesiasuch as floods, earthquakes, and landslides need to be controlled with disaster mitigation efforts with one of the technologies, namely the Geographic Information System so that the response to the post-disaster sustainability process can be optimally controlled. This research uses literature on topics related to disasters and the use of GIS, while what researchers pay attention to regarding the literature used is that the period of time used is indefinite, this is to explore the inclusive use of GIS as a technology that continues to develop. The literature used has a variety of sources but still maintains its credibility, With the results of the research obtained, the use of GIS carried out in each type of disaster is generally used in the creation of disaster-prone maps, to specific details such as GIS have the potential to be the basis for conducting a projected needs analysis in disaster risk management and GIS can be combined with other types of information technology that can affect the level of GIS output varieties in disaster mitigation efforts in Indonesia. Keywords: Geographic Information System, Mitigation, Disaster, Landslide, Flood, Earthquake.
